Composer Su-Chan Sang infuses his film and concert works with an artistic voice that’s all his own. Hailing from the Dominican Republic from a musical family, Su-Chan grew up steeped in music. By age 11, he knew composing was his calling. His works blends multiple styles such as classical and jazz with musical elements of his Dominican and Chinese heritage and influences of composers like Maurice Ravel, Lili Boulanger, Joe Hisaishi, Howard Shore, and Nicholas Brittell.
Su-Chan first studied at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música before graduating summa cum laude in Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music in 2019. At Berklee, he earned the Achievement Scholarship and Don Wilkins Award for his talents and outstanding performance. Since before Berklee, he has also received invaluable mentoring from esteemed composer/pianist Corey Allen in jazz, composition, and piano.
After graduating from Berklee, Su-Chan has scored the music for various short films, commercials and feature films. In 2019, he scored the short film, The Green Motel, which premiered at the prestigious Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival. During the same year, he also scored the Dominican short film Manzana, winner of various awards at film festivals around the world. His first feature film, the documentary Isle of Two Republic premiered in 2022. In the same year, Su-Chan was also awarded with an Honorable Mention by the Film Scoring Academy of Europe for their 2022 call for scores competition. 
Beyond film scores, Su-Chan nurtures a passion for concert works. In 2023, his first string quartet premiered internationally in Ecuador, while two orchestral pieces debuted in his Dominican Republic hometown with the esteemed Juan Pablo Duarte Orchestra. In 2022, his talents were recognized when he became a finalist in the prestigious Marvin Hamlisch International Music Awards' Classical Composition category. Su-Chan has increasingly focused much of his time on concert works, as his passion and love for concert music and contemporary Classical music grows. 
Su-Chan also utilizes his compositional talents for orchestration and arranging. In 2023, he contributed orchestrations to La Cenicienta, an original Dominican adaptation of Cinderella which has enjoyed continued success and re-runs. He has also arranged songs for artists such as Frank Ceara.
When he's not immersed in his musical pursuits, Su-Chan makes sure to treasure time with loved ones, including his dear life partner and spouse, Gabriela, and his four-legged feline sons Arturo and Octavio. A proud nerd and history enthusiast, he delights in discovering new corners of his adopted city of Boston and discovering all this beautiful city has to offer. Su-Chan embraces each day with an open heart, inquisitive mind, and appetite for new experiences.
